TAKE LESSONS

Fall 2026 Update:

I have a few openings left for Fall semester (beginning August 17). Priority is given to teens, but I welcome inquiries from adults.

Lesson Fees

$35 per lesson
(when signing up for the semester, or whatever remains of the semester.)

Lessons are 25-minutes long, and there are usually 15 or 16 lessons in each semester.

I offer single lessons—or “trial” lessons—for those who want to be sure my studio is a good fit. Single lessons are $38, due at the time of booking.

I also offer payment installments, which adds about 5% to the cost of lessons, but that allows parents to make three payments.

A $25 registration fee is charged per studio/school year, due at the time you schedule your lessons (except for trial lessons).

45-minute lessons are available for advanced students only.

ADDITIONAL COSTS

CREDIT CARD FEES

While I am happy to accept payments by credit card, there is a 3.8% fee added to invoices to cover my processing fees. Thank you for understanding.

You may also pay by personal check and cash.

SONGBOOKS

I assign songbooks to all students, which they are required to purchase. Songbooks include accompaniment MP3 files (or CDs) so that students may practice during the week. New students can expect to purchase 2-3 books their first semester, and a new book each semester thereafter, depending upon their interests and advancements. Since photocopying violates copyright laws, I cannot provide copies of music—you must purchase your own.

RECITALS & EVENTS

Throughout the year, there are various performance opportunities; some have an associated fee and others do not.

Recitals usually cost about $35, which covers the cost of a professional accompanist.

Competitions have their own fees and vary greatly. They are paid directly to the competition and not to me. If you have to hire an accompanist, that will be an additional cost.

Students are not required to sing in recitals or to participate in competitions.

Students who are invited to sing at one of the performances I direct are not charged for it, but neither are they paid.

Lessons are tailored according to individual needs. For some, this will mean an emphasis on performance, for others it’s about learning to breathe and further contribute to health and well-being. Still, others wish to gain more confidence, and some are just looking for a fun hobby.

I excel at discerning where you’re at and how to take you where you’d like to go.

Your first lesson is about assessment, introducing you to my approach, and clarifying your goals. From there, we work on vocal exercises designed to help you reach your goals and the songs you’ve chosen to study.

My approach can be described as “natural singing”—a technique I’ve developed over the past 20+ years that borrows from traditional classical singing, current vocal science, body mapping, and relaxation techniques like yoga, qi gong, and EFT (emotional freedom technique). My approach allows you to sing well—and sing anything.

The proof is in the pudding, as they say. I’m in my 40s and my voice is still fresh and vibrant, showing no wear because my technique is reliable and built for longevity.

While I’m a trained classical singer, I know my way around many genres and can help you sing anything you want to, including pop, jazz, broadway, country, bluegrass, and gospel.
