FAQs
Do you teach adults?
Yes! In fact, I teach just as many adults as I do teens or kids. I love working with adults. They bring so much relevant life experience to singing. And, even those with a busy schedule find singing lessons help bring some fun and balance in their lives.
Do you teach kids?
I hold group lessons for kids and tweens, and I give one-on-one lessons to teens at least 13-years old. That cut-off age is based on a lot of experience. I use to give individual lessons to younger kids, but I found that they excel in a group environment where they learn to focus on the music and learn the basics, getting them ready for individual lessons when they’re a bit older. Kids group lessons do have a minimum requirement—at least 4 students to “make.” I encourage parents to network with other parents—it’s fun for kids when they already know one another.
Where do you hold lessons?
My lessons are held at First Christian Church on Broadway in Shawnee.
How much do lessons cost?
I detail that information right here. You may pay the entire semester up front, or you may pay in installments—paying by installments is slightly more expensive (roughly 5%)
Can I start anytime?
Yes. I set my schedule each semester (which I also call “blocks”), but if I have an opening I am happy to accept students mid-semester.
Can I take lessons bi-weekly?
I don’t usually teach every-other-week lessons because it’s difficult on the schedule! However, under certain circumstances I may be able to accommodate this: 1) if you and another person want to take bi-weekly lessons, so you essentially share the same time-slot in my weekly schedule, or 2) if I have room at the end of my schedule on any given day. My evening appointments fill up quickly, though, so I can’t guarantee anything.
