I’m Dr. Ada Hunter, professional singer, teacher, scholar, choral director, and founding Artist Director of the Shawnee Peace & Praise community choir.

Since 2005, I’ve taught singers of all ages, but I specialize in the developing teen voice.

Many of my students have gone on to careers as performers and entertainers. But, I’m even more proud to say this: I help students find their unique voice, and inso doing, they gain the confidence to offer their gifts to the world—in whatever form they happen to take. Not all students want a career in performing, but all of them can utilize the skills they develop in my studio as they pursue their dreams and goals.

I’ve been performing for 25 years, taking the time to refine my technique, learn the nuances of the voice, the breath, and how body movement influences singing. I incorporate all that I’ve learned as I work with each student, tailoring each lesson to the individual. I don’t believe in molds or cookie cutters (except for actual cookies); I believe in helping each singer cultivate their unique voice.

I love to teach singing because I love to sing—it’s as simple as that.
